PAIR OF MINIATURE PORTRAITS OF AN OFFICER AND HIS WIFE: BRITISH PROVINCIAL SCHOOL. c.1800

A fine pair of miniature portraits of an officer and his wife, both seated. Held within a
pair of good matching frames.

Original label verso on the female portrait reads: "Lady Christian, copied by a native

Portraits such as these were very popular with the British in the colonies. Possibly
painted on ivory, as was very typical of these types of miniatures.
